1. Scope of Work
- We offer comprehensive kitchen fitting services, including meticulous measuring and pre-visit consultations.
- Variations in services may occur based on customer preferences, such as worktop or cabinet installations.
2. Quotations & Pricing
- Pricing is based on industry standards, subject to variation based on the current economic climate and the specifics of each project.
- Comprehensive quotations detailing the breakdown of costs, materials, and labour are communicated via email.
- Additional charges may apply for unexpected issues or changes requested by the customer, and clients will be informed and consulted before any additional work begins.
3. Payment Terms
- An upfront deposit of 15% is required upon acceptance of the quotation to secure the project commencement date.
- A mid-project payment of 35% is due, aligning with the midpoint of the project timeline.
- The final balance, covering the remaining 50% of the project cost, is payable on the day of completion.
- Overdue payments will incur a 5% monthly interest charge, calculated from the due date, along with a £50 administration fee.
4. Cancellation & Refund
- A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required for cancellations to receive a deposit refund.
- Costs incurred by James & Lees up to the cancellation date, including materials ordered and labour scheduled, will be deducted from the deposit.
- Exceptions may be considered for cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies, subject to documentation.
5. Timeline & Delays
- Project timelines are estimated based on factors such as kitchen delivery, the number of units, and pre-works like electrical and plumbing installations.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring the site is ready for installation as per the agreed schedule. Any delays or additional work required due to unpreparedness will result in additional charges.
- Delays on the part of James & Lees will be communicated promptly, and collaborative efforts will be made to arrange contingencies with the customer.
6. Warranty & Guarantees
- We provide a 12-month warranty on our workmanship, effective from the date of project completion.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or acts beyond our control.
- To initiate a warranty claim, customers must notify James & Lees within seven (7) days of discovering the issue, submitting a written claim for assessment.
- Upon approval, James & Lees will inspect and, at their discretion, repair or replace the affected components or workmanship.
7. Permits & Regulations
- Clients are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits or approvals required for the kitchen installation, including but not limited to building permits.
- James & Lees will provide clients with a comprehensive checklist of required permits and approvals.
- Compliance with local building codes and regulations will be ensured through adherence to industry standards.
8. Insurance & Liability
- James & Lees maintain public liability insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances, damages, or accidents during the installation process.
- Clients are encouraged to promptly report any accidents or damages to James & Lees for immediate assessment and resolution.
9. Changes to the Scope of Work
- The initial quotation covers specified kitchen installation services outlined in the attached documentation.
- Any additional work requested by the client will be subject to additional charges.
- Proposed changes to the original scope of work must be submitted in writing by the client.
- James & Lees will assess the impact of proposed changes on the project timeline and cost, providing a formal written approval detailing the agreed-upon changes, timeline adjustments, and any additional costs.
10. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved through negotiation or mediation before pursuing legal action.
11. Termination Clause
- Either party may terminate the agreement under mutually agreed-upon circumstances, subject to written notification.
- James & Lees reserve the right to terminate the agreement if the client fails to obtain necessary permits or approvals.
- Consequences of termination include compensation for all completed work, materials, and any costs incurred up to the termination date.
- Prepaid amounts beyond the costs incurred will be refunded to the client within a reasonable timeframe.
12. Confidentiality
- Only customer personal details are considered confidential.
- Customer information is protected through the use of a secure CRM system, ensuring secure storage and handling of personal data.
