We offer comprehensive kitchen fitting services, including meticulous measuring and pre-visit consultations.
Variations in services may occur based on customer preferences, such as worktop or cabinet installations.
2. Quotations & Pricing
Pricing is based on industry standards, subject to variation based on the current economic climate and the specifics of each project.
Comprehensive quotations detailing the breakdown of costs, materials, and labour are communicated via email.
Additional charges may apply for unexpected issues or changes requested by the customer, and clients will be informed and consulted before any additional work begins.
3. Payment Terms
An upfront deposit of 15% is required upon acceptance of the quotation to secure the project commencement date.
A mid-project payment of 35% is due, aligning with the midpoint of the project timeline.
The final balance, covering the remaining 50% of the project cost, is payable on the day of completion.
Overdue payments will incur a 5% monthly interest charge, calculated from the due date, along with a £50 administration fee.
4. Cancellation & Refund
A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required for cancellations to receive a deposit refund.
Costs incurred by James & Lees up to the cancellation date, including materials ordered and labour scheduled, will be deducted from the deposit.
Exceptions may be considered for cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies, subject to documentation.
5. Timeline & Delays
Project timelines are estimated based on factors such as kitchen delivery, the number of units, and pre-works like electrical and plumbing installations.
Clients are responsible for ensuring the site is ready for installation as per the agreed schedule. Any delays or additional work required due to unpreparedness will result in additional charges.
Delays on the part of James & Lees will be communicated promptly, and collaborative efforts will be made to arrange contingencies with the customer.
6. Warranty & Guarantees
We provide a 12-month warranty on our workmanship, effective from the date of project completion.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or acts beyond our control.
To initiate a warranty claim, customers must notify James & Lees within seven (7) days of discovering the issue, submitting a written claim for assessment.
Upon approval, James & Lees will inspect and, at their discretion, repair or replace the affected components or workmanship.
7. Permits & Regulations
Clients are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits or approvals required for the kitchen installation, including but not limited to building permits.
James & Lees will provide clients with a comprehensive checklist of required permits and approvals.
Compliance with local building codes and regulations will be ensured through adherence to industry standards.
8. Insurance & Liability
James & Lees maintain public liability insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances, damages, or accidents during the installation process.
Clients are encouraged to promptly report any accidents or damages to James & Lees for immediate assessment and resolution.
9. Changes to the Scope of Work
The initial quotation covers specified kitchen installation services outlined in the attached documentation.
Any additional work requested by the client will be subject to additional charges.
Proposed changes to the original scope of work must be submitted in writing by the client.
James & Lees will assess the impact of proposed changes on the project timeline and cost, providing a formal written approval detailing the agreed-upon changes, timeline adjustments, and any additional costs.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved through negotiation or mediation before pursuing legal action.
11. Termination Clause
Either party may terminate the agreement under mutually agreed-upon circumstances, subject to written notification.
James & Lees reserve the right to terminate the agreement if the client fails to obtain necessary permits or approvals.
Consequences of termination include compensation for all completed work, materials, and any costs incurred up to the termination date.
Prepaid amounts beyond the costs incurred will be refunded to the client within a reasonable timeframe.
